000Webhost free web hosting Reviews

by Web Hosting Review Zone on November 27, 2010

A lot of people Search for a free webhost for their website hosting provider so lets talk about a  free web host.

Earlier we said in our articles that free web hosts are not for businesses .If you want to do a successful business ,you must not go for free web hosting services.Because they can’t give you any kind of reliability .

But in case if you want to do some experiment your kind wants to build their fist website for playing around with their scripts the free web hosting is usefull.

This is our review for 000webhost.

000WebHost is a Linux web hosting service owned by online Businessperson AurimasRapalis. Founded in 2006, the service offers both free and paid web hosting.

What you will get ?

1500mb space

100 GB bandwidth

1 Domain hosting.

No advertisement

Problems:

  1. They offer unlimited domain hosting but some how when you add another domain from their control panel you will see error messages .
  2. In case you have a news letter or login confirmation system in your website then its very easy to get suspended. They do not offer mass mailing.
  3. Mysql space is limited to 50 MB (quite enough to store 10000 blogposts)

Positive Points:

1.Domain Hosting

2.mysql database

3. a small affiliate program

Over all :

In case if you want to test your website then this website is great other wise this is not good to use a free webhosting provider.

I have used 000webhost for one of my website for around 10 months on a run.
My experience with 000webhost is 50/50, not good and not bad. But 000webhost inspite of having many good features also have severe down-side.
I would like to mention the downside, after 10 months of my webistes uptime, suddenly one good morning I found I cannot login to the cpanel and its returning an error that the site hase been suspended, what I understood is may be the bandwith limit has crossed, but the bad experience is they never send any intimation on the firsthand the the bandwith limit is going to cross the limit very soon and didn’t even send any information why the site was suspended, i wrote to them but still no reply.
Another download side is that in 000webhost’s cpanel their is not meter to know the usage of anything(except disk usage), atleast a bandwith meter should be their.
Another thing I remembered, that as mentioned in the topic about unlimited domain, when you try to add another domain, along with getting an error message your “another domain name” also get stored in their database, and if you try to create a complete new account with that “another domain name” you will not be able to register the account. So be happy with one domain name registration, and donot dare to try to add a new domain name through 000webhosts cpanel.
One good thing about 000webhost is if you file a help through them, you will get a replywithin 24hrs, (but to mention most of the time that helpfull reply was of no help, its a different issue though).

This f***ers has cancelled my account after a 2 years of being there and having it active with lots of visitors! First they have suspended it because of sending spam!? I sent nothing! That’s how my account became inactive!

That’s the last message I’ve got:

Hello,

Your account is canceled. I am sorry but we do not keep backups for canceled accounts

So far, I can’t say that I’ve had any issues what-so-ever. Now, at the same time, I’ve not in any way attempted to “push” their services, as I would with a paid hosting provider. Just simply displaying a regular, nothing over-the-top kind of simple website seems to be the ticket with their free service. So, in my opinion, regarding their FREE HOSTING option, I give them a thumbs up.

Sorry for those of you who have encountered problems though. Honestly.

‘Mike

I just set up a website on a free account with them and am very pleased. I’ve had zero difficulties thus far and upload via ftp so that my local machine always has the latest copy should anything happen to the online backup.

We had just gotten domain registration for our little start up non profit and we went with 000webhost. As soon as I had access to it I quickly just threw up one of their empty templates to say under construction. I then started set up 4 email accounts real quick. First problem we had we couldn’t send mail out from those mail boxes. I checked and the control panel showed that we would need to use the outgoing of our ISP so I configured the systems for that…..we still couldn’t send mail out. Over the last couple of weeks we noted that the site and also mail servers would go down for maintenance ……lets just say a bit more frequently then normal webhosts. Last night I just posted about 10 general purpose pages, a links page and a paypal donation button so people wanting to donate could send money to a veteranary surgeon to help with funding for surgery of a service dog. 12 hours later I go to the site and it’s under review. No warning no nothing in any way shape size or form of an explanation. I am a bit perplexed why they would think a links page and a paypal button is advertising. If you get a chance got to check a few of the hosting blacklists now being sponsored by some of these sites. You may just be surprised at how many of the sites on the list are really owned by the same entity.

Hi, I clicked the link to confirm my email address and it took me right back to my posting. No problem….it’s confirmed. It’s obviously clear that 000webhost.com and the other hosts that they operate obviously don’t really understand customer service in the business world . I believe if they were really found something objectionable with we had posted on our pages they would have taken the site of line and let us know what they found objectionable and it could have easily been corrected. It is called common courtesy and good business sense to keep customers coming back. Perhaps if they understood more of what we were looking for they probably would have picked us and our other websites our sponsors are setting up they would have realized they probably would actually be picking up 20 or more customers. It’s a good thing we hadn’t relied on the site for any of our erp functions. Now that a formal complaint from the proper authorities perhaps they will figure out there was no clause in their tos with regards our copyrighted materials or for that matter anyone else they happen to be hosting. If anyone else is curious I can send you list of the other free webhosts I found that ironically have the same exact tos word for word. So either some of them did a copy and past or it’s the same company using different templates. I’ll be subscribing here so keep me ppost what I find with other webhosts as well. Also if any one want hyperlinks to a couple of good webhost black lists drop me a line. What few messages did get sent out from those boxes came back as spam when they were replies to people that contacted us. They weren’t marked spam b y those people………….just the webhost admins that probably found the same blacklists and block for the stunts these guys have also done.

One of my friends got his account suspended for “excessive CPU usage.” We looked through the Terms of Service, and found NOTHING of that nature mentioned, and they suspended his account anyway. To make matters worse, they won’t even give him his files without him paying!
Here is the debate he had with the support:

—Him:—

To whom it may concern,

The site mod-share.webuda.com has been (unjustly) suspended for “exceeding CPU limits”. I believe your system is fraudolent and unfair, but that is besides my point.

All I want from 000webhost now is to get the entirety of my uploaded files back. There are some important files for me.

Mr Staff,

I know how to read, thank you! I do not wish at all to get my account reactivated. I wish to get the files back (possibly through a ZIP folder download) and switch to a different hosting provider.

So, if you get your account suspended for doing something that’s not actually prohibited, to get your files back, you have to pay them! They cancel people’s accounts without any just cause! DO NOT USE THEIR SERVICES!
